As part of our continued commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable mining practices, Multilines Group is proud to share the successful launch of a large-scale tree plantation initiative led by our Mining Division. The project focuses on reforestation in previously mined and reclaimed zones — turning once-disturbed land into areas of ecological renewal and community benefit.
Restoring Land with Purpose
Mining, by its nature, impacts the environment. At Multilines Group, we believe that resource extraction must go hand in hand with responsible land rehabilitation. This plantation drive is a proactive step toward ecological restoration — converting post-extraction sites into green zones that contribute to biodiversity, improve air quality, and support soil regeneration.
Over the past quarter, our teams have planted over 15,000 indigenous trees across multiple sites that had completed their operational lifecycle and undergone technical reclamation. These locations were carefully selected in consultation with environmental experts and local community representatives.
Collaborative and Local by Design
The initiative was carried out in partnership with environmental NGOs, forestry consultants, and local schools. Community members, including farmers and schoolchildren, actively participated in planting events, helping instill a deeper sense of ownership and environmental awareness.
It’s not just about planting trees — it’s about rebuilding trust with the land and people,” said [Mining Division Head], Director of Mining Operations. “We are proud that our teams have gone beyond compliance to make this a meaningful environmental and community initiative.
Species Selection and Monitoring
To ensure long-term survival and ecological relevance, all planted species were native to the region, including neem, acacia, amla, and other drought-resistant varieties. Drip irrigation systems were installed to support early-stage growth, and maintenance contracts have been set up to ensure care through the first two years — the most critical period for survival.
Additionally, our environmental team will conduct periodic audits to assess growth, carbon offset impact, and biodiversity enrichment.
Aligning with Our Broader ESG Goals
This initiative aligns with our group’s broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, particularly our commitment to responsible mining, emission reduction, and land-use restoration. It is one of several actions being taken to embed sustainability into every layer of our industrial operations.
